Root Barrier Sheet Material Improvement to Better Stop Root Intrusion

Our root barrier sheet material is a popular solution to keep the roots or a tree or shrub from penetrating and weakening pavements, driveways, walls, or building foundations. We recently made a switch with out root barrier sheet material, moving from a product manufactured from HIPP to one made from HDPE (containing 50% recycled materials in both cases). The product has a similar appearance and technical performance with one important difference: the HDPE is more flexible than the previous material, and more resistant to some of the more aggressive roots, like that of bamboo.

NDS Price Increases on Core Product Categories

As the cost of oil, natural gas, diesel fuel and other forms of energy see significant increases, the price of transportation and raw materials such as resin continue to escalate. While the team at NDS works vigilantly to improve operating efficiencies (for example, by investing in more efficient manufacturing tools and machinery that produce a higher quality product while using less energy and producing less scrap), we have not been able to fully offset the increased costs of manufacturing and doing business in today’s marketplace.
